I’ve been wanting to ride the Oregon Outback route since it’s inception in 2012. But time, money, health, and wild fires have all been getting in the way each year. The conditions were finally in our favor so I was determined to get out there with or without my riding buddies.
There had been reports of the route having sections of peanut butter mud that caused other cyclists to bail.
Each day ended with us getting rained on as soon as we set up camp.

Difficulties:
Logistics on getting to Klamath then back to Portland were not terribly difficult but it was something that was annoying. I happen to take a road trip down to Klamath a few days before so I would already be down there by the time Brad and Rob arrived. They had to take nearly all the bags off their bikes to get them to fit on the train. I’ve always found this to be annoying.
